 Seasons

There are four seasons in a year. They are winter, spring, summer and autumn. There are three months in each season.

            December, January and February are winter months. In winter it is usually cold and frosty. It often snows. Rivers and lakes are frozen. The days are short, the nights are long. There are nice festivals in winter: Christmas, New Year and St. Valentine’s Day.

            March, April and May are spring months. In March snow melts in the streets, fields and forests. In April we can see small green leaves on the trees and birds come back from the south. In May trees begin to blossom. Spring is a beautiful season.

            September, October and November are autumn months. This is a rainy and chilly season but there are some sunny days in early October and people call them Indian Summer. Autumn is a rich and tasty season. There is a lot of fruit and vegetables. Parks, gardens and forests are beautiful in autumn because the leaves are yellow, red and brown.

            I think all seasons are good but I like summer best. The weather is hot and sunny. The days are the longest and the nights are the shortest. I can go to bed later and I mustn’t get up early in the morning because I have my summer holidays at school. In summer I spend more time with my family. We travel a lot and visit our relatives. Summer is wonderful.
